PROGRESSION

We went out pretty regularly after that. We spoke every day a couple of times for the day. If he didn’t hear from me by a certain time he would call me and vice versa. We went out as often as we could. I had learned that he had a ranch just outside town so he was busy most of the time managing his crew. He was a real cowboy. He invited me to come spend time at the ranch many times but I wasn’t ready to do that just yet.

We went all over the place on dates. The only place that we went to more than once was the restaurants. We always found somewhere new to go to. We stayed out as late as we could and even when we went home we spent some more time just talking on the phone and really getting to know each other.

I did end up going to his ranch. It wasn’t something that we had planned it just happened. It was my day off and we went out to lunch. After lunch we went and had some ice cream and took a long romantic walk in the nearby park. We then went to a nice little restaurant for an early dinner. I did not drive that day. He had picked me up at home. He ended up carrying me to his ranch. It was still early so I could see a good bit. It was beautiful. I could live in a place like this. I had always had a love for animals and he had quite a few head of cows and some horses.

He led me into his home. It was big and spacious. I have never seen a kitchen as huge as his. She looked in awe at all the things that he had stocked in there. He offered her options for tea. He had so many. She finally selected one and he put the kettle on.

I watched him move with ease in his kitchen. He caught me staring at him a couple of times but we were past that. We had been in a relationship or a while now so staring did not lead to embarrassment any longer.

I looked at him defiantly. He walked over to me and stood in front of me. He still mad me shiver when he stood so close to me. He all but pressed me into the wall.

“You don’t even know how long I have been waiting for this moment. I have always wanted to get you alone on my turf.”

I knew him well enough now. I knew that he was not one to tell tales. He always said what he meant to say no matter the consequence. I liked that about him and I was pretty much the same.

He had been amazing since the first day that I met him. He was so open and he was so warm and kind. I was able to say anything to him and not expect him to judge me in any way.
